SAINT PATRICKS DAY PHOTOSHOOT IDEAS

I love a good holiday photoshoot and wanted to share some of the shoots I’ve done for inspiration! I find that portraits are great for holidays because you can do a lot with your face, like glue random stuff to it, haha! The biggest piece of advice I can give is to have fun with your photoshoots.

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY PHOTOSHOOT IDEAS

JUST MY LUCKY CHARMS

This is a great opportunity to play around with bright and fun makeup too. I would never wear pink eyeliner or green eye shadow so this lucky charms photoshoot was really fun to do. When taking your portrait photos, be sure to take them in front of a blank wall so you can edit out the background and add something else if you want. Canva is a great resource for templates and photo editing. They just added a feature where you can easily edit out the background! I glued the Lucky Charms on my face with a purple glue stick and they stayed really well. If I did this shoot again, I probably wouldn’t have done SO many marshmallows but again make it your own.

CASUAL & CUTE FESTIVE

I shot these photos for Vera Bradley for St. Patrick’s Day but wanted to share here too because you don’t have to glue things to your face to be creative and fun for the holidays. I actually found some of the cutest casual tops from Target for St. Patricks Day and paired with this floral Vera Bradley mask, you’re ready to go celebrate with some green beer!

FEELIN’ LUCKY

This photoshoot came to me while scrolling through Pinterest. I kept seeing people photoshop rainbows into their photos but I really wanted a rainbow background. Again, I didn’t want to photoshop it. I went down the rabbit hole of looking at rainbow backgrounds and then saw a suggested item on Amazon of a rainbow wall you could create with crepe paper! It’s brilliant and adds a little bit of texture too. I changed my F-stop camera setting to 2.0 so the background would be really blurry and focus on me.

Now let’s talk about the gold on my face. My idea for this entire shoot was to be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but where to find gold to play with? Welp. Amazon my friends. This stuff is tricky to play with though. Oh my gosh.. I had to use tweezers to put it on my face and even then it was blowing on itself. I put a little bit of glue on my face and then it stick easier. Basically what I’m saying is it’s awesome but be gentle af.
