OUR SIGNATURE WEDDING DRINK & HOW TO MAKE THEM AT HOME

With our wedding theme being spooky chic, we had to play into that theme for our signature drink too! I will say, that the cantina we hired for our wedding ended up being horrible😅 They quite literally had one job to do, and couldn’t even make the drinks consistent, ran out of alcohol at 7:30 p.m. and didn’t even save Andrew and I a special stash. I will say, it was awesome having a separate cantina that looked really cool for photos but absolutely make sure they’re professional and can do a good job. Unfortunately, the cantina we hired seemed super professional via email and even gave us the portions to by based on our guest number and we overbought alcohol and they still ran out by over-serving and not measuring any drinks. If you’re in the Glen Rose, Texas area and want to know who we used feel free to message me and I’ll gladly tell you to avoid them. However, I wanted to make this blog post less about their mess up and more about the spooky drink we created at home and served (tried to have served) at our wedding.

Andrew and I were both super excited to create some beautiful photos at our wedding and wanted an EPIC drink for our guests to enjoy that was something they probably never had before. I mean, have you ever had a black margarita? I hadn’t until I started messing around in the kitchen coming up with a recipe.

OUR SPOOKY MARGARITA RECIPE

INGREDIANTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut up a couple limes and use one to rim the glass in lime juice

  2. Rim your glass in black margarita salt and set aside

  3. Pour 2oz of your favorite tequila into a shaker (My favorite is El Destilador Silver Tequila)

  4. Pour 4oz of your favorite margarita mix into the shaker (My favorite is Agalima Organic Margarita mix)

  5. Squeeze fresh lime juice into the shaker

  6. Add a handful of ice into shaker and shake, shake, shake

  7. Pour mixture into your rimmed glass

  8. Add a tiny spoonful of the Onyx Black Prism Powder and stir

  9. Garnish with a dehydrated lime and enjoy your delicious spooky marg

This margarita recipe is one of my all time favorites to make now. Basically any time I make a marg now it’s black and rimmed and black salt!
