HOW I ASKED MY BRIDESMAIDS TO BE IN MY WEDDING & INCLUDED PRACTICAL GIFTS

As an engaged lady, thinking about bridesmaids was top of mind! Haha, oh and of course marrying my soulmate. Growing up, I was always the girl who was friends with a lot of guys.. I kid you not the group of guys I hangout with was referred to Tanna and the guys. I had a couple of girlfriends and one girlfriend who I still talk to today but I never in a million years thought I would be that girl with 9 bridesmaids… YUP.. I said NINE! In college, I was able to make some of the best girlfriends I could have asked for. They are truly MY people and I couldn’t even imagine my spooky chic wedding without them by my side. That being said, I wanted to give them bridesmaid boxes that were on theme with the wedding, which is in October and give them gifts that were more practical than what you see in pre-made boxes on Etsy or Amazon.

HOW TO DECIDE WHAT TO PUT IN YOUR BRIDESMAID BOXES

Initially, I was going to give them pre-made boxes because I didn’t want to put everything together myself, but once I saw the boxes online.. YIKES. So how did I decide what to put in these boxes you ask? I thought about what my favorite things were and went from there. Would my girls like these things? Are they something they can actually use? I’ve been given some crappy stuff before in bridesmaid boxes and just tossed it to the side. I didn’t want that for my girls. Additionally, I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg and the ones on Etsy are hella expensive with somewhat crappy things.

WHAT’S IN THESE SPOOKY CHIC BRIDESMAID BOXES?

A MINI BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE - I snagged these bad boys from Specs for about $3.00 - $4.00 each.

CORKCICLE STEMLESS FLUTE - I wanted to get them something to put their champagne in that wasn’t glass so they could take it by the pool, camping, etc. These are actually got on sale for $10 a flute.

DW HOME FALL CANDLE - I swear by these candles, y’all! I buy mine at Home Goods or Marshalls because they’re always on sale for about $2.99. Be sure to read my blog post all about these candles specifically here.

THE BEST HAIR TIES FOR A GREAT CAUSE - TELETIES are my all time favorite hair ties! I’m sure you’ve seen telephone hair ties around but these are the name-brand ones that actually work. I’ve purchased the off-brand ones before and they just aren’t the same and leave horrible creases. TELETIES don’t pull your hair, leave barely a crease, and come in multiple sizes and colors. I purchased 3 different colors in 3 different sets then separated everything and tied them all together with cute ribbons I already had from being a craft queen in college, haha! Additionally, with each TELETIES purchase, they donate to FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered).

THE BEST BATH BOMB - There are numerous brands of bath bombs that are great but if you’re looking for the best you’ve gotta get a LUSH bath bomb. If you’re not familiar with LUSH they actually created the bath bomb! How cool is that? Read all about the history of the company here. It's pretty amazing! They had these cute bats for Halloween and besides having the cutest bath bobs they have the best quality.

FANCY CHOCOLATE - I mean… you can’t have a bridesmaid box without chocolate right? That’s how I see it anyway! When I tell you Andrew and I literally stared at the chocolate aisle in Central Market for 30 minutes I mean it. We read about all sorts of chocolate from all around the world and finally settled on this Prosecco chocolate bar that had cute packaging and was very on theme with all the champagne.

WHERE TO ORDER BRIDESMAID & MAID OF HONOR CARDS

Finally, let’s discuss the cards! If you didn’t already know cards are very expensive.. yup. I really didn’t know that until I started ordering bridesmaid cards, save the dates, and wedding invites.. My biggest tip is to design as much as you can on Canva and have it printed through them as well. Another tip is that if it still seems too expensive, download the design as a PNG and then upload it to Zazzle. They typically have good deals for custom cards in a low quantity & discount codes! It’s great to compare prices with multiple sites. These cards were about $14 total — not too bad.
