HOW TO MAKE AN AMAZING CHARCUTERIE BOARD

When it comes to a great charcuterie board, it’s all about the flavor options! You want to make sure the individuals you’re serving feel comfortable experimenting with flavors! I typically add some jam or honey or even both to my boards! Adding some cheese, meat, and a little bit of jam can really spark your taste buds! Now let’s talk presentation.

How do you create an aesthetically pleasing looking board? Grab a cutting board, lazy Susan, slab of tile from Home Depot, or some brown paper on a table! Then move on to the bowls of whipped cheese, olives, honey, jam, etc. Place them on the board first and then start to spread everything else around it. Continue to the cheese and meats insuring they’re spread out enough on the board. Next, move to the breads and crackers. I like to layer them on top of each other to create a pretty line, but not all crackers do that so tossing some into a pile it okay too.

The key is using the other pieces on the board as a wall to hold the others. Once you have the bowls, meats, cheeses, and crackers & breads on the board, it’s time to FILL IN THE GAPS. Grab some fruits, veggies, and nuts and start filling in! I typically spread the berries around to multiple areas on the board to bring pops of reds and blues all around. Once you’ve got everything plated, grab a sprig of mint or rosemary and garnish!

HOW TO MAKE AN AMAZING CHARCUTERIE BOARD

These two charcuterie boards are very different but still work. It’s all about being creative and exploring with flavors and presentation! Don’t feel like you have to do something in some special way! This is all to guide you but there’s no right and wrong way to make a charcuterie board. BUT there is one thing you must always do, ENJOY IT!

Additionally, I wanted to link some of my favorite charcuterie boards and of course accessories like tiny bowls and utensils.
